Story behind the "Old Skool Maxx"
This truck was purchased about two years ago by my friend. I was run with the stock Pro .15 until it hit the
beach that same year. Air filter popped off and the effect is a no-brainer. BLOWN ENGINE! I saw the destruction
first hand, and it was ugly. It sat in his basement and got periodically fixed, but never ran to its full potential
and was given up on. In December of 2002, he gave it to me for free as a gift I guess? It also came with about
90 dollars in hop ups, but had no engine, or radio system. I didn't think about fixing it until about September of '03
when I had the chance to buy a Savage SS package I would put together. I decided I was better off spending a lot less
money and get the Maxx working and that's what I did. I spent about $120 dollars in parts to get it working. I used
my old O.S. .12 CV-X, and Futaba Am radio system. Here are some before and after pics and a brief hop up list.
